Fitness was previously attached with the ability of a person to do something. However the aspect of physic and bodily appearance has also gained importance in the conceptualization of fitness. Few things are important when a person is regarded as physically fit. Moreover, doing every day work the human being needs energy and concentration of mind. This energy when left, even after you are done with all the work required to be done everyday shows the level of fitness. There are five components of fitness which are needed to define physical fitness. It is not the matter of few exercises and controlling weight, it requires much more than these two secondary measures.

According to the experts the five components of fitness are: cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition. When the first three components are improved in a human body, the weight is controlled and fats are burnt into required energy. The cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance are responsible for the efficiency of your body and mind, and improvement in these will bring positive effects for your health. To understand these components in depth will let you know the importance of each.
Cardiovascular fitness is also known as cardio respiratory endurance which refers to the ability of body with which it provides nutrition and energy to all the body tissues, organs and cells. This component of fitness is ensured when you run for a longer duration of time or swim on regular basis. The swimming and running provides oxygen and energy to all the body parts which will contribute to the cardio fitness. The aerobics is the best way for women to improve their cardio respiratory endurance.
Muscular strength may be defined as the strength of muscles to exercise or exploit power. The more the force is applied by the muscles, the more strength it gains. This component of fitness can be improved with the proper work out in gyms if you do not do heavy household or physical work in routine life.
The muscular endurance refers to the force which is applied for a long period of time to do certain force related task. To sustain muscular endurance people usually do sit ups and push ups. Lifting self on your arms and hanging for long period of time in which you try to lift your body on your arms can also be regarded as the muscular endurance activities.
Increasing the flexibility in your body will ensure the strength of your joints as with greater flexibility you can bend your body. It is good for the backbone health.
Body composition is the weight of a person that includes the bones, fat and the blood inside the body. The body composition is what which is addressed usually by the exercises and weight loss diet.
